The happy Christmas song “Grandfather Kringle” combines Santa Claus, Chris Kringle, the alps, Swiss folklore, yodeling, and the folk troubadour Burl Ives in a performance for the young and young at heart. The song was written by the head of the Columbia children’s department, Hecky Krasnow, under the pseudonyms he sometimes used: Stephen Gale and Leo Paris.

Recorded in New York on June 5, 1951. Orchestra under the direction of Percy Faith.
