This blog is dedicated to old children’s records. You will find many children related records.

Hello to all.
I am afraid i have some bad news, well not real bad, but for most of my blogs it will be not good. All good things comes to an end at sometime and this is the time the good things for most of my blogs will end as of now.
I will stop updating en repairing links and all that is necessary for those blogs. Not that i don’t like it anymore, but like i said in earlier comments i found other things to enjoy and focus on and that uses up a great part of my time. Real life activities and some online. And unfortunately there are only 24 hours in 1 day. I will only focus on and maintaining the British Comics Blog and the Newspaper Blog. All other blogs will still be here and all things can be downloaded as long as the links are alive. If there is something urgent or you have questions you still can make a comment, i will be observing the blogs for eventualities.

All is converted into 1 mp3 and can be listened to with every mp3-player. The quality is pretty good overall.
Most of them is from the time-area 1950-1980.
It’s not with any commercial purposes, just to share old children related vinyl with others.

I found all these on the internet, from different sources : forums, sites, usenet, archive, torrents.

I did not record them just collected everything.

When everything is done there will be well over 1000 records on this blog.
Educational, cartoons, music, stories, cowboys, heroes and other themes.

Click the little covers at the sidebar to access the page for the information and download.

Thanks to the recorders and original uploaders.

I am interested in getting a copy of “What’s The Good Word?” A gentleman I used to work for many years ago in Brooklyn, New York was the lyricist, and I would love to be able to give it as a present to his children and grandchildren. Thank you for your kind
consideration and cooperation. Sincerely, Fran G.

Sorry, everything i have is on the site, and it’s all found somewhere on the web.

Sorry, can’t find an online version, but hope it helps you track it down…

I had a favorite story on a children’s record growing up but it just had the paper envelope to keep it in so no clue who produced it. Woulda been from late 80s-mid 90s. It was a guy telling the kids about ziggy (I BELIEVE, but may have been Zelda, definitely started with Z) the zebra and you had to call her name a few times, before she’d fly down out of the clouds to play, because she was shy. The whole thing was him telling her story & introducing her to the kids; no music. She never talked, maybe a few “neighs”, and there were a few musical sound effects at times. Does anyone have any idea what this story was called or the record’s name?

  3. Ron M. says:

When I was a kid growing up in the early 1960s my parents would play an old record to help me remember things. It was the story about a little boy back in Greek times named “Forgetius”, who always forgot things. He was tasked with delivering a message, and of course he forgot it, until he used a method to remember. Can’t remember too much more about the story, but the record was pressed on a deep blue clear vinyl.

    Hello!
First, I want to take a moment for all of your hard work in gathering these collections and sharing them with the world. I know that your time is valuable and your efforts are no small feat! Over the past few years, I’ve been working to build my own collection to share with my children and they have grown to love these treasures.
I discovered your site last month and requested access to several files, but don’t believe I’ve been granted sharing access to my Gmail address – prestonrtrimble@gmail.com. If you are able to share access to that address, I would be immensely grateful.
    Much love and respect!

    • boutje777 says:

That is because some Googledrive files are messed up, if you can let me know which files give problems i make new links.

      • Preston T says:

        Thank you so much!

Here are the following links that I am interested in that are requiring access to the Google Drive folder:

Also, when downloading files from these links, it opens to a .EXE file rather than a .MP3. Attempting to convert the file further yields no results or anything playable:

Again, I thank you for all of your efforts in your procurement and posting. I’m sure it is arduous, but you are giving the world a huge gift!

      • boutje777 says:

I copied all links and will make new ones sometime today. About the exe files, those are Audiobooks that played automatically when you execute those.

      • Preston T says:

        You are a hero!
I downloaded everything you re-uploaded this morning.
        Thank you again.
I am attempting to play the .EXE files on my MAC, and it doesn’t auto execute those, for whatever reason.
I can look into it, but would love the .MP3 formats.
Don’t want to push my luck!

      • boutje777 says:

You are welcome. I am afraid i can’t help you with the exe files, i found them this way and have no knowledge how to convert these. Perhaps you have another operating system, i use a windowsbased desktop and only have to click on the file and the book plays, i can choose to autoplay or manually turn the pages.

      • Preston T says:

No worries. I will keep them and try them on a Windows machine sometime.
        Have a great day!

  5. Preston T says:

Don’t mean to predate upon your kindness and responsiveness, but I thought I might check if you happened to have any of these other Halloween recordings:

George S. Irving “Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark by Alvin Schwartz” (Caedmon, TC1794, 1986)

Milton DeLugg (The Vampires) “At The Monster Ball” (United Artists, UAL-3378, 1964)

The Folktellers (Connie Regan & Barbara Freeman) “Chillers” (Mama T Artists, MTA-2, 1983)

William Castle “Ghost Story: Thrilling, Chilling Sounds of Fright & the Supernatural” (Peter Pan, 8114, 1972)

Sounds of Terror! (Pickwick SPC-5104, 1974)

I’ve been building a collection over the past few years and would be happy to share any other pieces that I have procured, if there are any Halloween records you are looking for.

  6. Dave S says:

For years, I’ve been looking for a record I remember from my childhood. I don’t see it here, but I hope someone will be able to point me in the right direction. It was a dramatized Bible story of Noah and the ark. The other side was the story of the Tower of Babel.

I was born in ‘66, with four older siblings, so I’m guessing the record would have been from the 60’s or late 50’s. I have no idea as to the publisher or anything else. I would sure be appreciative of any help or suggestions anyone might have. Thank you!

  7. Gary says:

Perhaps you’ve heard of “How the Man in the Moon Lost his Face?” It’s an Arabam Hall Story, like “Bubble and Squeak,” by Columbia Records. The music and narration are heartwarming and spooky at the same time. I’ve never heard or read anything like it in children’s literature. My brothers and I, though we haven’t heard it in decades, have almost the whole thing memorized.

  8. Donna Saxonis says:

Hello! I’m looking for a 45 record called Today is Susan’s Birthday…it could be Happy Birthday Susan around 1978 or so. Thank you!!!

  9. Aleisha says:

    Hello,
I am trying to find ghost in the castle. It is a kids game we have it burnt on a CD but do not know who made this kids song, game. Some of the lyrics are . There’s a ghost in spooky, spooky castle flying all around and then the ghost picks a witch flying on her broom. Can you help me find this ?

  10. Donna says:

Hi… I am also looking for a record from my childhood. I thought it was called The Incredible Zoo Songs. But no luck yet!.. I just became a grandma and this record gave me so many wonderful fun memories. One of my favorites went like this:
    The elephant is very big
But he just keeps on growing and just how tall he finally will be
There is no way of knowing
    His skin has ample dimps
So that he could grow into to it
I’m glad I’m not an elephant
I’d hate to stand and doze
But most of all I know I wouldn’t like
    Is peanuts up my nose

  11. Mark K says:

First of all, on behalf of everyone who visits your site “THANK YOU”! Your site helps brings back so many childhood memories that I can share with our daughter (and eventually grandchildren)!
Having gone through a number of your links, many are working well, but some are on a google drive that requests permission access the folders. If you would be so kind as to forward your permission, it would be greatly appreciated!
    The most recent files are:
Radio Shack Special Collectors Edition – We Wish You A Merry Christmas
    Shell’s wonderful world of music
Roger Ramjet and the American Eagles
    Walt Disney’s Merriest Songs
    Thank you SO much!

  12. JESSICA LeClair says:

Every christmas i look for this album of kids singing very seldom heard christmas songs. I remember one specifically about the true meaning of christmas about a little boy selling christmas trees and the true spirit of what christmas really means. A message we really need today. I would play this song over and over on my fisher price record player. Any ideas? Thanks for so many wonderful memories.

  13. JESSICA LeClair says:

Also i have a bunchof kids stuff not on this blog. Do you want mp3 files and scans to post?

    • boutje777 says:

Thanks for the offer. If you want to share something you always can upload it to any fileserver and leave the links in a comment, i will make sure they will have their own place on the blog when i find some time one day.

  14. JESSICA LeClair says:

This one is rare The Talking Book Library The Audio Book Of Storytime Favorites. This is the first 16 RPM record for the blog. These wete 2 7 inch records.. https://www.mediafire.com/folder/2i7oykao2lmrq/Storytime_favorites

  16. Why does this site let me download some records from this site, but not others?

    • boutje777 says:

Can you specify which ones are not downloading ?

      • gordy6363 says:

Can’t remember, but some do and some dont. At least 75 to 80% dont

      • boutje777 says:

That is hard for me to check, some people have problems with Google drive, but that is something i can’t help. You have to take note of what the error says and search for a solution, it can be caused by different things. there are many sites that are helpful in finding solutions.

I am going to take a Summerbreak.
It was a tradition that i take a break in the summermonths to
have a chance to spend more time outside, cycling, taking pictures,
walking, visit events, fishing, focussing on other things.
The last 2 years that was not advisible, but now there are no longer
Covid restrictions i will pick this up again.
I will be looking at the blogs and make new links that are reported dead.
And i will be answering questions in comments also if i can.
That goes for all of my blogs.

Thank you for posting these albums. I was able to share the same Danny Kaye albums I listened to as a little girl with my daughter. She loved them! 🙂

  25. Judy Stuebe says:

Hi, I’ve been trying to find lyrics to a Jack & The Beanstalk song my daughter learned from a kid’s LP of children’s songs in approx 1976. It had 9 verses, & she could sing all of them. The 1st verse was: There was a little boy & his name was Jack. He lived with his mother in a bare little shack. “We are poor, my son, we’ve nothing but a cow.” ” Don’t worry Mother, I’ll try to sell her now.” I’m so sorry for not keeping that record.

  26. Kathy Scoon says:

    Hi!
We’ve been trying to think of the lyrics of a song we knew as kids. It was on a 45. The part we know goes something like this…. “ The frog in the pond says “croak”, the duck in the pond says “quack”, but the fish in the pond says nothing at all…. Just swims over and back….”

    Any ideas?
Thank you for the fun collection of long ago memories!!

    Kathy 😊

  28. Tammy Jo Robinson says:

Looking for a children’s album 33LP. Greatest children’s Stories… from the 1960s I believe. Front of album cover was pink striped wallpaper with a doll and stuffed animals. The story of Fuzzy the Caterpillar on one side of album. And I think Peter and the wolf on the other side.

  29. Hello! You give me hopes of finding one of my fave children’s albums about a Family called the Glupps’s! When I saw the album mentioned & that the family had a cow I KNEW it was the one I’d had!
Can you help me get a copy?
    Thanks, Victoria Deaton

  30. Ginny says:

Hi I’m looking for a song from the 50’s. It says I’m dressing my self, what have we here, those are your socks, socks, socks my darling dear. Going to a party! Have you heard it? It was very corny. My brother and sister and I laugh about it. I would love to hear it again.

  31. Lisa says:

Thank you for compiling this. It was so fun to recognize several of the albums I had as a kid. I’ve recently been remembering a series of records my local library had in the 70s with dramatizations of books for older children, such as The Tombs of Atuan, by Ursula LeGuin. I would love to find those again, but so far haven’t had any luck. If anyone has any clues I would greatly appreciate it.

  32. Carson says:

Hello, I was wondering if I might get access to the google drive please? I found so many wonderful audios on here that I have never been able to buy, but when I tried downloading the Star Trek files, it said I needed access to the drive? (I would download everything if I could *LOL* but I can make a list if you need me to whittle it down :D)

    • boutje777 says:

If you can make a list of the files you can’t access i will make new links, most of the files are not on Google drive anymore so many links will work allready and i don’t have the time to check all files.

  33. Craig Rogers says:

I downloaded several Tale Spinner recordings from another site (now closed) several years ago. I don’t see most of them here. Would you be interested in having them sent to you?

I also still have a bunch of disney story records. I could rip these if you are interested.

I am searching for an alphabet vinyl album which I believe would be 1970’s. I can’t remember the title but I can’t remember so many of the songs! I still sing them even after all these years! Specifically, each song was introduced by a voice that said ‘B is for Bus’ and then they’d be a song. In this case it was about A big red bus taken us along to the candy shop! I can sing it all! I was for Ice Cream and the song was I scream, You scream, We all scream for Ice cream. I remember E was for elephant and it was about an elephant who had a cold! I wish I could remember more, but if anyone can help me, please let me know. This looks like a place that actually might be able to help me 🙏

  35. Jean S says:

Hello! I’m looking for a very odd song we heard as kids in the 70’s but it’s probably from the 50’s or 60’s. Some of the lyrics are “that wasn’t so nice of my daddy to do, hippity hippity hop. He didn’t stop when I wanted him to, hippity hippity hop…. now i must look for my sewing box and darn my poor daddy as if he were socks, hippity hippity hop”. I think a daddy bunny(?) scares his daughter by taking deeper breaths and asking “is he bigger than this?” (Can’t remember what he was referring to, maybe an ox) Until he pops? Anyway I’m guessing you have no idea but had to ask. Thanks!

    • boutje777 says:

You are right, i have no idea, but there are more people who visit this blog so perhaps someone else can help you.

    • MarkJ says:

The album is “Teddy Bear’s Picnic and Other Animal Favorites”, Happy Time Records, HT1023, Pickwick International. It was originally released in 1963 and re-released in 1969. The song you are looking for is called “The Frog and the Ox”.

  36. Tam says:

My parents bought me an album for Christmas around 1975. It had a goat on it and I think it was called 101 silly songs. Icka backs soda cracks, there was an old lady, funiculee funicular, were some of the songs on it. Sorry if the spelling isn’t right.

  37. Carolyn Taylor Bentley says:

I remember a record from 1950 or so about the Supermarket. I want to say it was Albert Goes to the Supermarket or something near that..it was narration and songs. “Come to the Supermarket…”

      • George says:

Can you send me to someone who can help?

      • Each record appears to be hosted at different services. I just tried going to “Thunderbirds The Abominal Snowman – Century 21 Mini Album 107.mp3” and wound up on a black nearly empty Google Drive page. I saw a down-arrow download link at the top of the page and was asked where I wanted to save it on my iPad.

I am looking for a children’s record entitled “me too” which is about a duckling who longs to be part of a group. It was an old 45 record that I listened to in the seventies.

  40. Zunardo says:

Wow, what a wonderful collection of children’s music and memories!

I’m wondering if anyone remembers an LP of children’s songs that came out around 1963 or so. Think the label on the record was blue. Songs included:
    – When The Caissons Go Rolling Along
    – Make New Friends (But Keep The Old)
    – Me Too (song about a boy’s kid sister who only knows these words)
    – and a spoken song by an adult male who wishes he led a pirate’s life, then regrets it when he does and finds it’s harder than it looks.

Sorry, that’s all I can remember. This was the first album my parents gave me when I got a record player when I was four. I played that thing to death back in the day. Would love to find it again. Thanks for this forum! – Zunardo

  41. Susannah says:

Hello! I am looking for a childrens fairy tale songs record from the 19050s. The songs I remember were sung by a man – sounded American, not Burl Ives (accent). Some songs I remember were “Gulliver’s Travels” (“Oh gulliver, gulliver a travelin’ man was he…”), “The Ugly Ducking”, and “Puss in Boots” (“nickity nickity noo noo noo”). Your help is super super appreciated!!

Hi my dad was advent collector of children’s records they were his babies he had every kind golden, red, Disney, folk basically any children’s records he had them he died several years back and I’m trying to sell them people who would appreciate them the way he did I live in Hampton va and cerebral palsy so I wouldn’t be able to travel far but if any one would be interested in seeing his collection let me know he has over 1000 to 2000 records which is why I said he has every kind you can think of

  46. Rebecca Dodd says:

I’m looking for an old album that I was raised with. The cover has a woman in a sequined dress walking down a sequined ribbon out of the stars; mostly it was blue. One of the songs went like this….you drank a jug of moonshine and it gave me quite a fright cause that ain’t good for baby cause it keeps you up all night. Now go to sleep my baby and try to dream that you are blowing up the Bureau of Internal Revenooooooo…..

  47. Susannah says:

You are welcome. Unfortunately i made a comment awhile ago that i no longer maintain this blog, i leave it as it is and will no longer repair links or update it, i have other things that i want to spend more time for. You can read that also at the mainpost at the homepage.

  48. Jay says:

Hi, I know this site is not updated or maintained any longer. I am hoping someone might help me locate or identify a record. It was probably from the late 60s to early 70s. I believe it was called Old Mother Hubbard. It was a 33 Vinyl LP and i believe the cover was blue with Old Mother Hubbard opening a bare cupboard and a little dog waiting behind her. The Peter Pan record (45 rpm) that keeps coming up is vaguely similar as i recall..at least in its color. That is not the album and the one I am looking for has lots of songs sung by a kids chorus that is just awesome. Songs on the album are, Old Mother Hubbard, There’s A Hole in the Bottom of the Sea, Michael Finnegan, Round and Round Ol”Joe Clark, Will You Mary Me, What Did Delaware? and so many more. Anyone else remember this album?

  49. Deborah J Adler says:

Looking for an album from the 70’s that had creative drama songs and stories, Album was white and black on the cover and had excerpts that had you create a human machine with sounds.

  50. John D'Amato says:

Hello: I am looking for a children’s vinyl record that has the story of ” The 3 Little Pigs on it. I believe the recording was made in the early to mid 1960’s.The story is very comic, almost satirical and more for adults than children. The pig’s names are Horace, Horatio and Homer. This gives you an idea of what I mean. Horace and Horatio’s voices sound like James Cagney and Edward G. Robinson. Homers voice is harder to describe – he is very pragmatic , Ivory Tower Eggheaded, and sort of displays an intellectual Ronald Coleman type delivery. This version of the story is by far the most entertaining and certainly the funniest . I hope someone out there knows about it and can help me find it.
    John D’Amato

  51. Grandma's Records says:

Hi! I am looking for a record that contained “we’re going to the zoo” on it. I have googled everywhere and can’t find it. If I remember correctly, it was a folksy version with an orange label and a black “G” logo on it.

    Thanks so much in advance!
