This blog is dedicated to old children’s records. You will find many children related records.

All is converted into 1 mp3 and can be listened to with every mp3-player. The quality is pretty good overall.
Most of them is from the time-area 1950-1980.
It’s not with any commercial purposes, just to share old children related vinyl with others.

I found all these on the internet, from different sources : forums, sites, usenet, archive, torrents.

I did not record them just collected everything.

When everything is done there will be well over 1000 records on this blog.
Educational, cartoons, music, stories, cowboys, heroes and other themes.

Click the little covers at the sidebar to access the page for the information and download.

Thanks to the recorders and original uploaders.

Thanks for starting this blog. I found out it from your comics blog. I have over 1,000 kids records and I am sure you have some that I don’t have. Will you be doing read-alongs also? Thanks again

    • boutje777 says:

You are welcome. Maybe in the future when all the “normal” records are done i will continue with read-a-long also.

    • Karen says:

Does anyone have access to Christmas at Dr. Fun’s Funhouse. Every Christmas I faintly remember the tunes from that record. I would love to hear it one more time.

  2. WONDERFUL !!!

Hello everyone, i hate to disappoint everyone but my account on Rapidshare is locked and cannot be used anymore. I am going to think it over sometime, i have 2 possibillities, only go on with free public domain comics and other stuff or upload everything to usenet. For sure the last will take some time. I will leave this blog the way it is for now so that when i choose to upload everything to usenet i only have to replace the downloadlinks. I let you know my decision. One thing is for sure i am not going to upload to other filesharing sites because i don’t want to face the same trouble in the future like now with Rapidshare or Megaupload.

  6. Oh, okay, that’s good. I’m quite anxious to get a hold of that Bob Dixon recording, so I”m heading over there right now to see if I can get it. 😀 Swell! Thanks for letting me know!

  7. George says:

Could you re-upload Modern stone age melodies of the flintstones in Mediafire again? Because I had a very nice time with this music in my childhood. Thanks in advance.

  8. boutje777 says:

There has been a change of plan. I am going to upload the files to Mediafire and another filehost for the time being. I have good hope the links will be repaired somewhere next month.

  9. Joe Turner says:

If there’s any way to get a link to the “Child’s Introduction to Outer Space” MP3, that would be more than fantastic.

  10. boutje777 says:

All the links are repaired and working again. Updating will continue as usual

    • Smeg says:

      • boutje777 says:

Can you specify which ones ? So i can see what the problem is and if necessary upload them again. I tried a few and they all download normal for me.

  20. Sammu says:

boutje — whatever happened to your comics blogs? they are gone?

    • boutje777 says:

Yes, if you followed the comments on the comic blog the last months you would have known, also the reason 😉
But in a few weeks i will start a new comicsblog with only information and compilations from golden age public domain comics, i will announce the opening in a comment on this blog.

      • Sammu says:

boutje — yes I saw some of the comments but I got confused as I thought you were starting a new comics blog soon. but it sounds like except for compilations, you are not doing actual original comics anymore?

however, the reason I ask is — you had a nice section on children’s books on your comics site I think, did you not? — these books would go so well with the music on your children’s music blog, do you think so? it would be nice to bring that book section back and maybe put it on this music site :]

my kids would enjoy that very much. thank you very much sir

      • boutje777 says:

        Hello Sammu.
No i will not place original comics on the new blog.
I am still thinking to do something with the old children’s books in the future. One problem is to find good filesharingsites that i can use, because i use most space on the filesharingsites that seems to be good with my compilations and records.
Maybe when the new comicsblog is up and running i will look further for other sites and because i have alot of other old childrenbooks, i will start a blog for only these kind of books, but that will be something for much later this year, or even the beginning of next year.

I am looking for a specific story/song about Hettie The Hen who lived in a farmyard and laid different coloured easter eggs.
it starts with “This is the story of hettie the hen, if you’ve heard it before it’s worth telling again ….” I remember the song from my childhood and a lot of the words, I would love to find it …. Please can you help me. I originally thought it was on Dr DoLittle, Talk To The Animals, but unfortunately it isn’t the case.

    • boutje777 says:

Is this what you are looking for ?

It’s from Happy Time Children’s Chorus & Orchestra: “Born Free & Animal Songs & Stories”.

I can try to make an mp3 from it if you want, but that is not always possible, but will try it when you want to have it.

  35. Ray says:

Hi. I have just started trying to download some of these wonderful albums, but I am having a lot of trouble (I am not a computer expert or particularly adept). So far I successfully downloaded one album. One album I was able to open and hear but I could not figure out how to save it (I ultimately want to make cds to play in my car for my kids). On some downloads, my Kapursky antivirus would block it and say “dangerous url” or “includes adware”. Other ablums, like Huck Hound and the Ghost Ship seemed to be missing. Do you have any advice as to how to go about it? Thanks and sorry for any trouble I really appreciate what this site does!

    • boutje777 says:

Hello. Thanks for you’re reply. It’s hard to tell what’s going wrong. The way i do is just download the file to the map or folder i want it to be in and then use it the way i want, like copying to a cd or listen to it. Sometimes antivirusses gives a warning when there is nothing dangerously in the file. I know for certain that all the files that i upload are just 1 mp3 musicfile. Sometimes it’s a thing with the uploadsite that has adds and when you’re not looking good it’s easy to click the wrong button is my guess. If you let me know what other albums are missing i will refresh the links. I allready refreshed the link for Huckleberry.

  36. Robert Quigley says:

Davy Crockett goes to Congress do you have it? It was originally on two 78 rpm records released by Columbia but it was re-release on a 33 rpm by Disneyland records.

  37. Grace Smither says:

I found the ABC Children’s Chorus album and I am very grateful for that. Reminds me of lazy summer mornings just sitting on the floor with older brother listening to this and another record which, I am hoping, you might have. We had this LP featuring songs such as Don Gato, In Bahia Town, Vibora Del Mar, Au Claire De la Lune, The Mill, and Shoo fly, among others. Basically, it was like a Children Around the World kind of album, the exact title of which escapes me. Would you happen to have this? Again, thank you very much!

  38. Arthur Picotte says:

Wow, what a fantastic list. I’m searching for a spoken word recording about rhythm (maybe in the 70s). It was something like, Rhythm is Everywhere—Day, Night.

  39. Tim Griffith says:

Tried downloading Here Comes Garfield but all comes up is error.

  42. Karen says:

To the owner of this blog….Thank You. Your recordings are top notch and plentiful. It is nice to know that a piece of the good old days still exists!

    • boutje777 says:

Thanks, you are welcome. And still alot more to come. Next week a few Christmas related are scheduled.

      • Robert Quigley says:

I would like to know what happened to my request of Davy Crockett Goes to Congress?  Does anyone have the Columbia or Disney recording of this?  Thank you                                                                                                                        Robert Quigley

  44. Kathleen Martin says:

What a great site! I was able to upload th Babar art for my CD copied from an old LP. I’d love to have access to or information about obtaining a record from the 40’s about “the big Cowboy and the Little Cowboy” and theBig and Little Fireman . Anyone out there know any resources?

  46. Jim says:

Thanks for all of these great recordings! I’ve been trying to download a few of the Disney ones (Cinderella, Pinocchio, and Jungle Book), but the links don’t seem to be working. Can you help?

  47. boutje777 says:

Beginning early next month i am gonna place well over 60 Christmas records on the blog, not actually children’s records but Christmas is always nice for children too, so so is the music.
It will be records from the 60’s-80’s from well known artists like Andy Williams, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como and more.
I will make another place on the sidebar for them and call it just Christmas 2.

  48. Thank you for your dedication to archiving these wonderful records. Finally found some of the records I remember from childhood. Especially, “Just so stories.” and “Stories from the Old Testament.”

There remains one elusive vinyl record I cannot find. I am hoping you may have an idea where to look if you have not come across it. It is a narrated version of Aesop’s Fables – spoken in prose by a woman. I recall listening to it in the mid 1960’s around 1967. No singing, no music, only simple ethnic percussion. Album art was stylized, simplistic in black and earth tones I believe. Not exactly a record for young children, likely for older children. Left an impression on me.

Thank you again. Well done my friend.

  49. boutje777 says:

You are welcome. I am afraid i can’t help you that much with the Aesop’s fables, it would help when you know the name of the woman and the recordcompany. Maybe someone else can help out.
